A true first edition which is Signed in pencil (L.E.Pease 1866) to top of title page. 301 pp with the 1866 publishers catalog in the rear. Published in dark green cloth, period blue paper ep's, minor foxing.

Boston: Lee and Shepard, 1872 Quite scarce, a tale of the Franconia Hills in New Hampshire. Original dark red cloth bds, cocked. Gilt titles and a lovely young lady with a hiking staff on a hillside, all in gilt with black decorations, quite nice and worthy of display. NY: Lantern Press, 1931 Poor condition though complete with a dirty and worn dust wrapper which has been partially glued to the boards. A novel with decidedly Oriental flair, like most of his writing. Quite uncommon in any condition. No listings anywhere for it, I added the title info to wikipedia under the heading of author 'Frank Owen'.
