Boston: Lee and Shepard, 1872 Quite scarce, a tale of the Franconia Hills in New Hampshire. Original dark red cloth bds, cocked. Gilt titles and a lovely young lady with a hiking staff on a hillside, all in gilt with black decorations, quite nice and worthy of display. Spine is sunned, also decorated and titled in gilt. •Bds are cocked, spine ends chipped, and corners mildly worn. •Good Condition, several signatures are somewhat loose. NOTE: Missed by Bent, however the dedication states "This Book is Affectionately Dedicated, as a Remembrance of a Delightful Summer in the Franconia Hills". Ednah D. Cheney. Forest Hill Street, Nov. 6, 1872. (To her Daughter Margaret Swan Cheney.) "Forest Hill street" is now Agassiz Road to Bethlehem, and was the road to Forest Hills Hotel for many decades.
