Moscow: Progress Publishers [1980]. 413pp. Hardcover with badly ripped dust jacket. Three novellas: "The Divvy"by Alexeyev; "In Bold Type" by Borunov; "Battalion Commander" by Sharipov. I believe these date from a period when the Soviet military felt that war fiction was not toeing their preferred line, and so they looked to their own to produce the correct line. Moscow: Foreign Languages Publishing House. No date. 235pp. Written in 1948, Medvedev was a long-time intelligence officer in the Sovet Union, and leader of partisan groups in the Ukraine after the German invasion; there is a nice write up about in in Wikipedia.

Garden City: Doubleday & Company, 1977. 436pp. Hardcover wtih dust jacket. Ex-library. Solid enough but not attractive. Shtemenko was Deputy Chief of Staff of the United Soviet Armed Forces, directly under Stalin.

New York: Reader's Digest Press * E. P. Dutton: 1973. First edition. Hardcover with dustjacket in very good condition; jacket is in a clear protective cover. This book played a role making the west aware (again) of the magnitude of Stalingrad.

Moscow: Progress Publishers 1977. First printing, 280pp. Tipped in erratum at rear. Hardcover with dustjacket in very good condition, but the front hinge is a bit stiff. Dragunsky was with armoured divisions. This account also includes post-war coverage.

Kiev: Dnipro Publishers, 1986, 277pp. Soviet-Ukrainian war novel. Very little by Mushketik has been translated into English.

In the war he had combat roles, and was the head of an army reconnaissance detachment at the conquest of Berlin. 304pp; A longer account was published a few years later. The author was twice a hero of the Soviet Union, a party secretary in the Ukraine and after the start of the war an underground leader. Shaken, frontis loosed.

559pp. Polvoi was a journalist and war correspondent; this long account of a war hero is based on an actual person. Winner of the Stalin Prize (second class) and made into an opera by Sergei Prokofiev (his Opus 117, currently available from Melodiya).
