Sobre este item
Ann Arbor, Michigan: Roger Jackson. Fine with no dust jacket. 1995. Limited/Lettered Signed Edition; First Edition. Broadside. The publisher's 8 1/2" x 11" letter is folded once. ; The 14 "vignettes" are the briefest essays about the author's real and imagined sexual encounters, all these vignettes being printed on unbound, small sheets. These encounters seem to be loveless and purely sexual. They are a.) Laundromat, b.) Being Single, c.) My Indifference, d.) Small Breast, e.) Lover's Nuts, f.) Blowsy Tart, g.) Older Lady, h.) Cotton Underpants, i.) Japanese Businesswoman, j.) Femme Fatale, k.) Active Sex Life, l.) Being Naked, m.) Suntan Lotion and Whisky, n.) Three Emancipated Women. Includes both the limited and trade editions housed in the publisher's folder. Limited edition of 26 lettered copies, this one being copy W and signed by the author on the special bifolium. This special inclusion is a brief essay about a writer who wanted Saunders to have her nude picture as a screen background on his computer. Although the subtitle of this work states the vignettes are printed mezzotint, they are obviously letterpress printed and only Rebecca's nude picture is printed with a mezzotint process. The trade edition is one of 250 copies. Some vignettes reprinted from the author's 1981 book Screed. Printed on eighteen 8-3/4" x 5-3/4" sheets of Howard Crush Leaf #70 text paper, the leaves in six colors: green, pink, beige, cream, blue, and gray. The leaves, in sequence, are Title, Prologue in the form of a quote from Tropic of Capricorn by Henry Miller, Introduction by Joan Wells, the fourteen vignettes lettered a-n, and an Afterword by the author. Housed in the publisher's hand-made, quarter cloth folder with reddish mauve, all cotton, laid Italia paper over boards. The folder has an inner, manilla paper folder that holds both editions of the work. Both editions are required for this issue of the work. Limited Edition: Lettered W, one of 26. All required sheets from the trade edition, plus the lettered, signed bifolium Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm. All required sheets in a color printed 6" x 9" envelope Trade Edition: One of 250. All required sheets in a color printed 6" x 9" envelope. Includes the 4-page Prospectus for both editions and a publisher's letter to "Margaret" explaining the limited edition and that only 8 of the 26 copies are still available. The publisher, Roger Jackson, is a small, fine press publisher of works by and about Henry Miller and other, sometimes controversial authors like Jack Saunders. The author has produced many volumes of 'outsider' work. This one is erotic, explicit in the briefest ways, and a view into the author's mind and what he chooses for subject matter. Both editions are in Fine condition, the folder, both envelopes, and Prospectus are Near Fine. The publisher's letter is Very Good+. All materials are absolutely clean.; Color Photographs; Large 8vo 9" - 10" tall; Unpaginated pages; Signed by Author .
