Upper corners slightly bruised and spine tips a little rubbed. Armorial bookplate of William Henderson to front paste-down and ownership stamp of M. S. E. Colbourne to first blank. Near Fine: a superb copy in a very handsome binding. A truly collaborative effort from the Bewick workshop: over seven years engravings in Aesop's spring from the hands of TB apprentices William Harvey, Isaac Nicholson, Edward Willis, Robert Bewick as well as the master Thomas Bewick himself; the latter likely drawing all of the blocks.
