Japan: late Edo or Meiji. A well-preserved Japanese text woodblock, useful for demonstrating printing methods in the Edo and early Meiji periods. The text is from a scarce religious book written by Dōshin 道振 (1773-1824), the head priest at a temple in Hiroshima prefecture; NIJL lists three editions: 1820, 1881, and 1908.
