Lewis Carroll is the pseudonym of Charles Lutwidge Dodgson (1832-1898), who wrote ALICE'S ADVENTURES IN WONDERLAND for the amusement of eleven-year-old Alice Liddell and her two sisters. Published in 1865, it was followed by THROUGH THE LOOKING GLASS AND WHAT ALICE FOUND THERE in 1871.Helen Oxenbury, one of today’s foremost illustrators, is the winner of England’s prestigious Kate Greenaway Medal as well as many other major awards.
