Imitation Love is the 13th stand-alone romance novel by American author, Jackie Merritt. When television news anchor-woman, Abbie Foster finds herself pregnant after an uncharacteristic, tipsy one-night-stand, she knows nothing about the father apart from his name, Cord Durant, and that there must have been something extraordinary about him to make her behave that way. Trying to find out more about the father of her child, she visits Cord’s exclusive portrait studio and he soon twigs about the truth. Cord, in love with Abbie from the start, is determined not to let her get away, and Abbie soon finds herself coerced into marriage. Classic plot, but quite well executed; characters with depth and charm; witty dialogue; all in all, a fun read.
