Zinoview was born in 1922 and as a youth attracted the attention . of the Soviet Police for criticizing the Stalin personality cult and was first sent to a psychiatric clinic and then to prison. Later during the war he served in a calvary and in an armored regiment before transferring to the Air Force as a fighter pilot. After the war he studied philosophy at the University of Moscow and held a research appointment. He was deprived of all his appiontments and expelled from the Communist Party upon the publication of this book in the West. He also wrote The Radiant Future. Pictorial cover shows people with their bottoms where their heads should be and vice versa. Photo of author on back cover. .
