A scarce copy of this first edition work on medicinal plants in the original Welsh, with some lovely hand-coloured plates. The first edition of this work. A scarce first edition of this book, concerning human diseases and medicinal plants and vegetables. In the original Welsh. Written by Rhys Price and E. Griffiths. Illustrated with thirty full page plates, each beautifully hand-coloured. Jisc copies note variable numbers in plates with twenty-six, twenty-eight and thirty-one plates for 1849 editions. Collation therefore varies, other copies were seen with fewer plates than the present at thirty. Re-backed in a full calf binding with the original boards restored. Externally smart, the board slightly bumped and rubbed. Internally, firmly bound. Light spotting scattered to the leaves, which are also lightly age toned, as usual with this type of paper. Illustrated with thirty full page plates, each hand-coloured. Very Good Indeed

Based in the literary city of Bath, our offices are housed in the Eastern Dispensary. Built in 1845, the building originally existed as a charitable institution providing medical care. The building now houses our collection of over twenty thousand books and has five full time members of staff.
