Sobre este item

Washington, D.C.: Academy of American Franciscan History, 1965. Classic scholarly two-volume complete text presents a compilation and translation of the collection of almost complete material written by Lasuen, Serra's successor as president of the colonial Upper California missions. Approximately four hundred and eighty papers are classified as letters, many of which Lasuen addressed to higher officials in Church and State, written in the formal style consistent with Spanish writers in the eighteenth century. The remaining letters deal with matters of business, and friendly, informal letters to confreres in the missions of California or in San Fernando College, Mexico. 877 pp. collectively. Frontispiece photos of Fermin Lasuen in both volumes. Signed and inscribed by the author on the front endpaper of Volume I. Gilt spine and front cover. Vol.I has a small dent on the spine, and a few tiny scuff marks to front cover. Minimal shelfwear.. Signed by Author. First Edition. Hard Cover. Near Fine. 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall.
