London: James Cochrane, 1834. Hardcover. Near fine. 12mo, 8 volumes, illustrated. A handsome set, bound by Bartlett (in Boston) in full mottled brown calf with gilt borders, dentelles, and compartments. All edges gilt. Marbled endpapers. Faint paste residue to spine of volume IV. Apart from the occasional very partial crack to an outer joint, a lovely set, quite bright and clean internally. Volume I bound with half-title; all volumes have engraved title pages. Very well-preserved; there is no evidence of repair. An attractive set, at home in any collection of fine Scottish or British literature.
