Sobre este item
Evansville, IN: Mead Johnson & Company, Nutritional Division, 1979. Presumed First Edition, First printing. Wraps. Good. One sheet, approximately 17 inches by 11 inches, folded in half, resulting in four pages. There is some wear and soiling. There is more information on pages 1 and 2 than on pages 3 and 4. This issue of Notes addresses Survey results that show early introduction of solids was still common. There is discussion of the results showing that mothers introduce solid foods into the infant's diet generally sooner than the WIC professionals recommend. This is in part due to family influence that 'the infant was ready' ready for solid foods and the mother's decision, at times influence by a belief that infant's sleep better once solid are introduced into their diet. The Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children - better known as the WIC program - serves to safeguard the health of low-income pregnant, postpartum, and breastfeeding women, infants, and children up to age 5 who are at nutritional risk by providing nutritious foods to supplement diets, information on healthy eating including breastfeeding promotion and support, and referrals to health care.
