Sobre este item

Chicago: Shasta Publishers, 1948. First Edition. Attractive copy of this classic collection, gathering stories which Campbell published pseudonymously in Astounding Science Fiction between 1934-38. The title story is the basis for two noted film adaptations: The Thing From Another World (1951), directed by Christian Nyby and Howard Hawks, and John Carpenter's 1982 film The Thing. Bleiler (1978 ed.), p.38. First Printing. Octavo (20cm); blue cloth, with titles stamped in gilt on spine; dustjacket; [viii],[2],3-230,[2]pp. Pictorial bookplate of bibliophile Warren Bowers Dexter mounted to front pastedown; trivial wear to heel, with some very subtle tanning to text edges; very Near Fine. In the original Hannes Bok dustjacket, price-clipped, with some trivial wear to extremities but displaying none of the usual toning to the spine; very Near Fine.
