Sobre este item
One of the series of Nelson Library volumes published between 1909 and 1937, this is the novel The War of the Carolinas by Meredith Nicholson (1866-1947), who was particularly well-known for his popular romance and adventures stories. Set in the Carolinas, the story focusses on the families and romantic adventures of the daughters of the governors of North and South Carolina. In addition, there are the intrigues of a group of moonshiners. This volume is in good condition. There is some minor wear and bumping to the corners. There are also what appear to be splatters of paint on the back cover. The publishers cloth is slightly worn on the top and bottom of the spine, the gilded title and ornamentation on the spine is somewhat faded and there is some discolouration. Inside, the endpapers have signatures of previous owners and there is some cracking in one of the first quires. Otherwise, the binding is tight and the text entirely legible. The book has a slight lean, and the dust jacket is not present.
