Sobre este item

Author published. 2000. First edition. Hardcover. Fine. PRIVATELY PRINTED BY THE AUTHOR IN AN EDITION OF 2000 COPIES. 10 x 7¼ inches, red cloth spine with gilt lettering and tern vignette, shiny boards with coloured illustration and gilt lettering on red panel to upper cover, lower cover cream with small coloured illustration and brief comments from pre publication readers, illustrated yellow end papers (Plymouth), 231 pages. Profusely illustrated in black and white by Nick Pouillis. "An epic tale written entirely in verse. With a strong sense of adventure, this is a classic tale of right and wrong, good and bad. Set over 20 centuries, it sweeps though Scandinavia, Spain and the South West of England." (lower cover blurb). No inscriptions, a Fine as new unread crisp clean copy (issued without dust wrapper). Exciting debut by Hugh Montgomery - a former commercial diver and archaeologist. His work on the salvage of the Mary Rose, King Henry VIII's flagship which sank in 1545 was an inspiration for the writing of the Voyage of an Arctic Tern; Montgomery is also world record holder for playing the piano underwater and a working surgical consultant who is credited with the discovery of the 'fitness' gene. The book won both Book of the Year and Poetry Book Of The Year at the David St.John Thomas Charitable Trust Self Publishing Awards for 2000. This is the scarce year 2000 first edition.

Sobre greaves-leaves

I am an independent retired individual who has specific interests in History, particularly local History and relevant scarce books. Many of the books for sale are from the collection I have built over the years. I do not operate as a business and spend a few hours a week on my hobby. However being retired I am usually available to service orders promptly and personally.
