Sobre este item

Wakefield, Rhode Island & London: Moyer Bell, 1993. INSCRIBED / SIGNED by the AUTHOR on the half title (see photos). Near Fine condition in a Near Fine dust jacket. NO chips. NO tears. NOT price clipped ($16.95). Bright, shiny, clean, square, and tight. Sharp corners. NO remainder mark. Pages are fresh and crisp. NO underlining. NO highlighting. NO margin notes. A collection of the author's remembrances -- of Lillian Hellman, Martha Graham, Marguerite Yourcenar, Jerzy Kosinski, well-to-do generations of German-Jews, etc. Bound in the original black cloth, lettered in shiny gold on the spine. From the Dust Jacket: "We meet the nannies and friends. We go to Europe and college. We are transported to bygone times... In this compelling collection of autobiographical remembrances, Dorothea Straus, inspired by her admitted guru, Marcel Proust... looks back on her life in her own search for lost time. And though time may be fleeting, the poignant portraits painted in this rich prismatic book hold fast.". INSCRIBED / SIGNED by the AUTHOR. First Edition (so stated). Hardcover. Near Fine condition/Near Fine dust jacket. 8vo. viii, 222pp.

Sobre About Books

About Books (Genny and Michael Winne, proprietors, formerly of Parsippany, New Jersey) has been selling rare and OP books since 1985. Besides book fairs and mail-order catalogues, long-time collectors and dealers will remember our lengthy For Sale ads in the Antiquarian Bookman and similar magazines. Our inventory of over 40,000 volumes is especially strong in the specialties listed, but contains fine books in a variety of other fields as well. Because most of our books are stored in protective boxes, rather than on shelves, they cannot be viewed as a whole. If you wish to visit us to examine specific titles, please provide 24 hours notice and we will make them available for your inspection. Phone calls to (702) 750-2722 are welcome, but please, only between the hours of 8am and 10pm (west coast time).
