Kingsport, TN: Southern Publishers, 1936. 1st Edition . Hardcover. VG+. 12mo - over 6¾ - 7¾" tall. See photos for condition details. Hardcover, brown cloth boards show light handling wear as well as age and corner bumps. Internal binding is good and text pages are tight. There are no hinge issues, nothing torn or loose. The front and rear pastedowns stamped "Property of O. R. McGuire". Colonel O. R. McGuire was the chairman of the committee on administrative law of the American Bar Association, and author of "Americans on Guard", a series of addresses in defense of the conservative interpretation of our constitutional system.. The front end page contains an inscription which reads: "To R. R. McGuire, Frontier law may be crude but it has some interest to those who like the history as well as the practice of the law. I hope you will enjoy this story of the Southwest. David A. Simmons, Feb 1, 1939". David Andrew Simmons served as assistant U. S. attorney, as attorney general of Texas, president of the Houston-Galveston Bar Association and of the Texas Bar Association, and a member of the Board of Governors of the American Bar Association. No other handwriting found in the book. Binding is tight pages are firm/square. Paper is toned due to age and there is a bit of light foxing and spotting present.

Purchases will ship by US Media Mail or Priority Mail (if buyer selects) and higher priced items may have insured placed on the order and will typically ship within one business day. Additional postage may be required for multiple volume books or books weighing over 5 lbs., but only in unusual cases. Insurance is available upon request though we normally place insurance on any item of $75 or higher at no additional cost to the buyer. Non-US sales will ship by First Class International or Global Priority. Additional postage may be required for multiple volume books or books weighing over 4 lbs.
We always take extra care in packaging and shipping. Books are typically wrapped in packing paper or bubblewrap before packaged in a sturdt shipping box. All orders, even those shipped by US Media Mail, will be given a USPS tracking number which will be sent to the buyer so they will know when to expect arrival. Please let us know if there is a book with incorrect or missing photos. We recently moved the inventory to Biblio and a title or two may have had issues with the photos being transferred over.
Yesterday's Book shop is owned and operated by a disabled veteran. Due to my limitations, I often have to rely on speech-to-text software to list the books. If the description has typos ("and pages" instead of "end pages", pace downs instead of pastedowns, guilt instead of gilt, etc,) PLEASE let me know so I can correct the listing. The software spells words by phonetics and can make errors that I may not catch.

Yesterday's Book Shop is an independent, family-owned establishment. The store first opened in 1966 under the name Collector's Corner and was located in Western Maryland. The Collector's Corner dealt mainly in books but also sold stamps and assorted ephemera. In 1975 the name was changed to Yesterday's Book Shop when the store only offered books and printed matter. In the early 2000s the brick and mortar store was closed and now we only sell online.
