Sobre este item

London: Neville Spearman, 1959. First Edition. Cloth. Fine/Very Good. Signed by Author. Hardcover/ DJ (has price in English coinage- 13 s. 6 d.), 191 pages, 8 x 5 1/4"". Book is Fine, DJ is VG to Fine condition. Assume First UK Edition- copyright page states title ""was first published in 1959"" by Spearman, no note of subsequent printings. INSCRIBED & SIGNED by author (full name) on 1st blank page ""For Shirley Sizer From Maude Hutchins"". Same page has small 1 1/2"" x 3"" printed label pasted in: ""Not for Sale / Sample Complete Copy"" (other terms ""Proof Copy"" & ""Manuscript"" are pencilled out). Colorful red, white, blue DJ w/ title repeated 4 times shows little use: only lightest edge wear & a bit of sun to spine. Youthful author portrait & short bio. on back. DJ displays extremely well. Blue cloth binding excellent- clean & square. No bumps, rubs, sun, fray, etc. Gold spine lettering crisp & intact. Front endpapers each have sm., light 2"" x 2"" discolor where newspaper book review (for another of her books) was laid in. This is minor & does not affect inscription or signature. Text otherwise tight, bright, clean, unmarked- maybe just a trace of even toning. NOT ex library. Overall excellent, well preserved copy.
