Sobre este item

New Brunswick, New Jersey: Rutgers University Press, 2001. Front free endpaper neatly removed, otherwise condition would be Fine. Bright, clean, square, tight, unmarked copy. Sharp corners. No chips or tears. No remainder mark. No owner's name or bookplate. Illustrated. From the Dust Jacket: "What went on before ground was even broken is a fascinating story in itself. Angus Gillespie recounts the political maneuvering... deftly presenting portraits of the men responsible... Twin Towers also demonstrates how engineers prepared the site and solved complex problems (wind patterns, elevator placement, ground-water complications) in order to erect the towers, each with 110 stories. And Gillespie discusses the contrast between the architectural community's almost universal disdain for the towers' design and the public's enthusiastic acceptance of the buildings as a symbol of New York... Through numerous first-hand interviews... Gillespie captures what happens during a normal twenty-four-hour day in the Twin Towers." Copyright page has dedication "to those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001." . Second printing of the 1999 original. Hardcover. Very Good condition/Fine dust jacket. 8vo. xvi, 263pp. Great Packaging, Fast Shipping.

Sobre About Books

About Books (Genny and Michael Winne, proprietors, formerly of Parsippany, New Jersey) has been selling rare and OP books since 1985. Besides book fairs and mail-order catalogues, long-time collectors and dealers will remember our lengthy For Sale ads in the Antiquarian Bookman and similar magazines. Our inventory of over 40,000 volumes is especially strong in the specialties listed, but contains fine books in a variety of other fields as well. Because most of our books are stored in protective boxes, rather than on shelves, they cannot be viewed as a whole. If you wish to visit us to examine specific titles, please provide 24 hours notice and we will make them available for your inspection. Phone calls to (702) 750-2722 are welcome, but please, only between the hours of 8am and 10pm (west coast time).
