The public may therefore by assured that this is the genuine edition." 195, [1] p., engraved frontispiece portrait; 20 cm. (8vo). Disbound; housed in new brown clamshell box with gilt-tooled spine label. Sold in London by D.I. Eaton, J. Jordan, W. Ramsey, and J. Marsom. Publisher's advertisement for records of the trials of Muir, Palmer, and Skirving on one page following text. ESTC T122114. Maurice Margarot (1745-1815) was one of the founders of the London Corresponding Society, which sought parliamentary reform in England. In 1793 he was arrested and charged with sedition. He was convicted and transported to New South Wales in May 1794. After his return to England in 1810 he testified regarding corruption in New South Wales. In Good Condition: disbound; first (blank) leaf and frontispiece portrait, and last several leaves are partially detached; last 3 leaves have closed tear from the gutter; light soiling; a few pencilled marginal notations. Clamshell box is in Fine Condition.
