Contents loose as issued in wrappers with engraving on cover; publisher's board chemise (white spine lettered in gilt and brown boards) with matching brown slipcase. Fine. Brianchon, Maurice. 49 pages in text. Folio, 38 x 29 cm. Limited edition, copy 31 from a total of 300, and one of only 30 copies on Japon with an additional etching of the cover and a suite on chine. The extra suite on chine: 10 black and white engraved plates, nine in water color, plus the extra original etching. Brianchon, an influential master at the Ecole des Beaux Arts continued the tradition of of Bonnard and Vuillard in the intimacy of his compositions. In 1949, Brianchon was appointed Chef d'Atelier de Peinture at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris. Printed by Fequet et Baudier, the original water color illustrations pulled by hand onto copper plates.
