The final (publically) published novel from American novelist Sarah O. Jewett, before the 1902 carriage accident that left her partially paralyzed. Like many of her other books, The Tory Lover is set in Jewett's home state of Maine, during the Revolutionary War. However, its dramatic action and romantic themes distinguish this work from the country vignettes for which she was best known. BAL 10914.
