Three quarter inch loss to the lower front corners of 4 pages nowhere near affecting the text otherwise about near fine in original beige cloth lettered in red within black and red fields on the upper cover and spine and in a very good pictorial dust jacket with some of the text on the front and rear flaps underlined. "The central theme of this biography is the last phase of the long, and always losing, struggle of Agrarian America against the advancing forces of industrial capitalism." Uncommon in dust jacket. This is the eminent Pulitzer Prize-winning historian Woodward's first book.
