Fine/Very Good. 8vo, 416 pp. George Smiley matches wits with his opposite number in Moscow, the enigmatic Karla, as he seeks to uncover a Soviet mole in the British service. The 1979 BBC miniseries starred Alec Guinness. Smiley was played by Gary Oldman in the 2011 film version. True first, top edge in red, not price clipped, with some light foxing along edge in near fine dust jacket which has some light fading to the spine.
Sinopse
Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy is a 1974 British spy novel by John le Carré, featuring George Smiley. Smiley is a middle-aged, taciturn, perspicacious intelligence expert in forced retirement, recalled to service to hunt down a Soviet mole in “The Circus”, the highest echelon of the Secret Intelligence Service. In keeping with le Carré's œuvre, the in medias res narrative begins with the repatriation of a captured British spy, background being supplied through a series of flashbacks.
