This copy is signed by both authors on the title page, and is inscribed to Nicholas Vrooman's sister Julianna. Wraps illustrated with a black-and-white photograph, front and rear free endpapers are transparent with a repeating milk cow design, VIII 87 pages, Resources, illustrated extensively with black-and-white photographs. From the Forward: "One of the oldest ongoing social gatherings in Goodhue County is the annual fair. For more than 120 years, this vessel has brought together those variously involved in the county's agricultural sector. This study of the county fair offers a novel and important approach to one facet of agricultural life. Historically, the fair has reflected, and in many ways stimulated, changes in agriculture. It has reflected, as well, the social values of the larger rural community. The history of the fair is indeed the history of a rural agricultural society, for it represents a continuous record of change." Some wear at spine ends, corners, along the edges of spine, some light scratching/scuffing, small section of wear a top edge of front cover; otherwise, a nice copy, clean, no writing or marks, and the binding is sound.
