Sobre este item

N.p.: N.p., 1954. Fourth Revised Final Draft script for the 1955 film, here under the working title "The Pleasure's All Mine," written by the screenwriting team of Melville Shavelson and Jack Rose. Shavelson and Rose did not receive screenwriting credits, which went to Edward Hope and Leonard Stern in the film's final release. Presentation copy belonging to Jerry Wald, with his name in gilt on the spine.

Wald is best remembered for his long and successful association with Warner Brothers as both a screenwriter and producer of a number of notable films, including "Mildred Pierce" (1945), "Humoresque" (1946), "Key Largo" (1948), and "Flamingo Road" (1949). In the 1950s he moved to Twentieth Century-Fox, and was the producer there for "An Affair to Remember" (1957), "Peyton Place" (1957), and "Sons and Lovers" (1960).

Based on the 1919 play "Home and Beauty" by W. Somerset Maugham, and a musical comedy remake of Wesley Ruggles' 1940 film "Too Many Husbands," starring Jean Arthur and Fred MacMurray. Betty Grable stars as a war widow who marries her late husband's songwriting partner, Grower Champion, and is thrown for a loop when her first husband, Jack Lemmon, shows up alive and well, and eager to see his wife.

Bound in light blue cloth with navy quarter leather binding, with five raised bands and gilt on the spine. Title page present, dated February 2, 1954, noted as FOURTH REVISED FINAL DRAFT, with credits for screenwriters Melville Shavelson and Jack Rose. 94 leaves, with last page of text numbered 93. Mimeograph duplication, rectos only, with a yellow revision page dated February 15, 1954. Pages Near Fine, binding Very Good plus, with moderate rubbing to the spine and corners.
