Sobre este item

New York: New American Library, 1984. First edition. Near fine in a very good plus jacket.. First printing of this Stephen King novel written under pseudonym, a tale of unyielding retribution visited upon those who mostly deserve it. THINNER was the fifth book published by Stephen King under the name Richard Bachman, and the final one to appear before his alternate identity became widely known. In spite of his dedication to maintaining the persona, "It was the beginning of the end of Richard Bachman's career. 'Thinner' was too obviously a Stephen King novel." Or, as King recalled, "The Literary Guild took 'Thinner' and I heard a comment from one of their readers that: 'This is what Stephen King would write like if Stephen King could really write'" (Brown). 8.5'' x 5.5''. Original quarter black cloth with red boards, with metallic red spine lettering. In original unclipped ($12.95) dust jacket. 309, [1] pages. Foxing/spotting to underside of jacket, not visible from front, unobtrusive. Trace shelfwear. Else bright and sharp. Presents well.

Sinopse

Six weeks after an old gypsy man curses Billy Halleck for sideswiping his daughter, he's ninety-three pounds lighter. Now Billy is terrified-and desperate enough for one last gamble that will lead him to a nightmare showdown with the forces of evil that are melting his flesh away.
