Good only, with fading to spine and wear at corners spine ends, gilt tarnished and rubbed, light staining and light rippling to cloth. Front joint a little tender, former owner names on front pastedown; light toning to contents. Numerous notations written in pencil at the rear endsheets and pastedown. A scarce first printing of a book Hill claimed was inspired by a suggestion from Andrew Carnegie.
