Octavo, first edition, pp. 3, 419, viii (index), errata leaf, brick-colored cloth boards with gilt lettering to spine and front inside stamped frame, former owner's ID on flyleaf, bookseller ticket on front paste-down. Observations written in encyclopedia form by an old China hand, with travelogue-like observations on jinrickshas, cormorant fishing, lacquer ware etc. Cordier 103. Condition of this book: Very good with rubbing at extremities, touch of shelf paint on bottom front edge, minor staining and soiling to covers. Size: Octavo (standard book size).
