Port of Spain - actually New Orleans: The Chronicle Publishing Office [actually] Southern Book Mart, 1938. Hardcover. Near Fine. viii, pp 134. Scarce New Orleans reprint of Thomas' rare 1869 first edition of this study of what it describes as 'Creole "Patois" or "gombo French"' misleadingly dated 1869 on the title page, reproducing the original imprint from Port of Spain. Bound in publisher's pebbled black cloth with gilt title panel to upper cover, ownership inscription of 'M & W Krauss 13 January 1938' on first blank, title page in red and black, brief introduction by G William Nott followed by Thomas' text. Near Fine 1938
