Second edition, produced to War Economy Standards. 388pp. In black cloth-covered boards with gilt titles on spine. 12mo. Boards rubbed at edges, a little rounded on corners and spine ends; cloth a little dull. Previous owner's name inked on front free endpapers; endpapers tanning, else internally neat, clean, bright and tight. In a worn and torn dust jacket, with some loss along lower edge, sunned over spine, visible shelf wear on verso. Novel set in rural Kent during World War II. Sheila Kaye-Smith was a popular English novelist, known for her many novels set in borderland country between Sussex and Kent. We have many Sheila Kaye-Smith titles in stock.
