"Signal" was the brainchild of Dr Paul Leverkuehn (who had served with Count Nicolai's Middle East intelligence unit in WWI) and it had available enormous resources and readership. The standards of production were extremely high - years ahead of its time. It was extraordinarily effective throughout wartime Europe and had a strong influence on magazine publishing generally.
