The dustjacket shows moderate chipping along the upper jacket edges; rubbing to the verso of spine panel causing small hole; Very Good. "Modern woman transposed to Elizabethan England, and flaunting the banner of her refusal to conform to the religious tenets of the crown" (Kirkus Reviews). Forms part of the author's novels following the Alard family saga, here set during the sixteenth century's Reformation persecutions of Roman Catholics in England. NCBEL III, p. 626.
