FIRST EDITION. Printing Number Line: None. Very Rare. Collectible. Pub. Doubleday, Page & Company, 1900. Hardcover: Very Good, with gilt on spine, cream lettering and colorful print on cover, red buckram binding. Has some minor edgewear, little bit of bumping, wear at spine head and heel. Tight binding. Clean. Little toning, very small area of 'lacework' in paper upper corner on half title page (paper deficiency as adjoining leaves are intact). Appears read with great care. Markings: NONE located on page flip. 281 pp. Illustrated with four (4) well-maintained B&W photographs including the frontispiece under tissue paper. Purchase includes pictorial postcard with a personal message to Lawson written and signed by Field (dated 3/17/48) and bears a cancelled $.01 postage stamp. No unpleasant odors detected.
