Sobre este item

London England: Adam and Charles Black, 1956. Hardback. Stained Glass of the Middle Ages in England and France. Slight foxing to end inside covers. Couple of tears to D/J. Plastic protective covering around D/J. With Fifty Plates in Colour by Lawrence B. Saint. Both author and illustrator of this standard work on medieval stained glass are practical workers in their art as well as close students of its history. Mr. Arnold traces the development of stained glass from its earliest beginnings in the two countries in which it achieved its greatest triumphs. He abalyses the styles of each period, and gives detailed and critical description of characteristic examples. Mr. Saint is one of the world's leading stained glass artists, responsible for the stained glass in the American National Cathedral in Washington. The originals of his fifty colour plates are of such value that they have been purchased by the Victoria and Albert Museum. Illustrated. 269 pp. (We carry a wide selection of titles in The Arts, Theology, History, Politics, Social and Physical Sciences. academic and scholarly books and Modern First Editions ,and all types of Academic Literature.) . Reprint. Cloth. Very Good/Good. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" Tall Octavo. Hardback.
