Sobre este item
London: Routledge and Kegan Paul. 1963. First edition, first printing. First edition, first printing. Publisher's original black cloth with titles in gilt to the spine, in dustwrapper. A fine copy, the binding square and tight. The contents with a little tanning to the endpapers are otherwise clean and crisp throughout and free from any previous owners' inscriptions or stamps. Complete with the near fine dustwrapper which has some slight rippling to the front panel and some fading to the spine. Not price-clipped (35s. net). An excellent copy. The author's seminal work, providing a comprehensive study of the social history of the French Revolution. A leading authority on the history of the Revolution, Hampson was best known for challenging the orthodoxies of the dominant "French school" of revolutionary studies, casting a more critical, non-doctrinaire eye. A scarce first edition. Further details and images for any of the items listed are available on request. Lucius Books welcomes direct contact with our customers.
