Sobre este item
Weidenfeld & Nicolson Ltd, London, 1992. Reprint. Hardcover. Very Good Condition/Very Good. Illustrator: Various. with references, bibliography, index, and 40 pages of reproductions of artworks and also photographs, reproduced in either colour, or black-and-white. Red coloured boards with gilt coloured titles to the back strip. Illustrated dustwrapper with white coloured titles to the front panel and back strip. As Antonia Fraser brilliantly and conclusively proves, they (the six wives) were rich and feisty characters. They may have been victims of Henry's obsession with a male heir, but they were not willing victims. On the contrary, they exhibited remarkable degrees of spirit of defiance of which women living now might still be proud . They displayed considerable strength and intelligence at a time when their sex supposedly possessed little of either. -- paraphrasing front fold over blurb. Softening of the back strip edges with very light age toning of the text block edges. Little rubbing of the dustwrapper edges and panels with fading of the back strip. Size: 4to 9¾" - 12" tall. XIV, 482 pages. Please refer to accompanying picture (s). Illustrator: Various. Quantity Available: 1. Shipped Weight: 1-2 kilos. Category: Biography & Autobiography; England; Politics & Government.
