MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOK

The Secrets We Conceal by S.R. Fabrico is a book about sexual abuse. I have to admit that at times, reading this story actally made me sick. Family and those we love are suppose to protect us from predators out there. Laura was a happy child, wanting to visit her cousin, but if she had only known what would happen, maybe she would have stayed home. Fabrico does a fabulous job writing this book, being sensitive to those who have dealt with this subject. I like the way she talks about abusive relationships in a way that doesn't blame the thr one hurt. One thing I hope this book does is to encourage and help those who have been abused to speak out. Find someone you trust and talk to them.

I, like others have said had many emotions reading this book. From sickness to stress, from anxiety to depression, I would just sometimes stop and cry. But this story needs to be heard. And I hope something I have said helps someone somewhere, or maybe helps a reader get the news out about this issue. I plan to see what I can do to help others. I encourage you to read this book. It's not the best reading material, but it into the hands of others could change someone's life. I'm giving this Five out of Five Stars!!
