Sammelband of 10 sermons delivered by Benjamin Wood during his 53-year tenure as pastor at Upton in Massachusetts. Octavo. Quarter-bound leather over marbled boards. Wear and chipping to edges. Contemporary ownership inscription of James and Francis Nelson to preliminaries; interior else unmarked and legible throughout. The final entry includes three sermons with continuous pagination: concerning the congregation leaving the old meeting-house, entering the new, and concludes with a funeral sermon for Wood, who died in 1849. A Very Good collection documenting the preacher's lengthy career; all scarce in retail.
