Quarter leather and green paper-covered boards. 191 pp. Some dampstaining (faint) on front cover, articles tipped in inside the covers, signed by William Eno and Jonathan Holdeen (Apr 15 1936), margin dampstain on some leaves, few notations in ink, Good. Holdeen (1881-1967), who resided in Pine Plains and had an office in Poughkeepsie, N.Y., was the eccentric, penny-pinching, millionaire lawyer who set up 2.8 million dollars in trusts to make Pennsylvania a tax-free state (an idea inspired by Benjamin Franklin). An extraordinary legal clash followed in which the Unitarian Universalists were involved. Google Holdeen, and read about this fascinating scheme and legal battle. . Good. Quarter Leather.
