Spine is sun faded with lettering worn. Book label at foot of front flyleaf. Good. Novel about the heir and successor to a noble English family whose wealth had been greatly diminished. Published the same year as the first British edition. Cannan was a pacifist, novelist, and friend of D.H. Lawrence.
