First English-Language edition, First Printing, from 1960 of yet another volume in the beloved Czech illustrator's series of geography/history books for children. 60 pages. NOT the modern reprint. Oversized hardcover folio is in VG- condition, downgraded due to one page having been ripped in half & taped long ago, with discoloration from the cellophane tape still visible. Else, the book is very clean, pages creamy white with modest tanning to edges, but completely unmarked. Colors bright, binding strong & straight. Moderate rubbing to extremities & bumping to all corners & both ends of spine. NO DJ (missing). Our photos depict the EXACT book you will receive, never "stock" images of books we don't actually have.
