Sobre este item

Toronto: The Ryerson Press, 1924 Book. Illus. by B & W Photos. Very Good Minus. Cloth Card Cover. 1st Edition. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. Original light blue cloth wrappers with gilt lettering. Spine has large stain its full-length. This history was written in preparation for the 40th anniversary of the driving of the "Last Spike." The author was a Presbyterian minister who wrote history books in his spare time (he also did one about the RCMP). Unlike others who wrote about the CPR, MacBeth included modern information in his account, including discussing the construction of spiral tunnels, dams, aqueducts, and urban real-estate development. .
