EX-LIBRARY, showing an attractive bookplate at the front pastedown endpaper and a card-pouch at the rear pastedown and a "Due Date" slip affixed to the rear free endpaper; the front free endpaper has been removed. Else, Very Good: shows light wear to extremities; mild rubbing amd some faint spots of soiling to the front panel; slight spine lean. The binding remains perfectly secure; the text is clean. Despite some minor flaws, remains clean, sturdy, and quite presentable. NOT a Remainder, Book-Club, or Ex-Library. 8vo. (7.75 x 5.5 x 0.8 inches). 260 pages. Olive green cloth over boards with gilt titles at the backstrip. Top Edge Gilt. Shipping Weight: 17 ounces. Second Edition [1909]. The first edition was published in 1895. Hardback: No DJ 'as issued'. Vernon Lee was the pseudonym of the British writer Violet Paget (14 October 1856 – 13 February 1935). She is remembered today primarily for her supernatural fiction[1] and her work on aesthetics. An early follower of Walter Pater, she wrote over a dozen volumes of essays on art, music, and travel.
