Lettering bright, boards exceptionally clean for a light colored cloth binding./None. General Duke was John Hunt Morgan's bother-in-law. His narrative is not only military oriented but addresses social life, slavery, etc. A very collectible Confederate account.

ITC-48: "A standard since its publication.." Nevins I-83: "...Exceptionally fine memoir...often consulted and widely quoted."

THIS BOOK IS ONE OF THE MANY PUBLISHED WITHOUT A FRONTISE PORTRAIT OF DUKE.
