Publisher's original full vellum binding with gilt decoration and titles to the upper board and spine. Top edge gilt. An excellent copy, the binding with a rubbing and darkening to the extremities and a nicely rounded spine. Illustrated with 22 tipped in tissue guarded colour plates all of which are in fine condition. Further line drawings and vignettes by Hugh Thomson throughout. There is a partially removed bookplate to the front endpaper otherwise clean and bright throughout. This copy number hand numbered 633 of 1000.
