Eleven volumes of Punch, beautifully bound in seven volumes. Half bound in fine brown calf over marbled boards, spines in six compartments separated by raised bands, gilt lettering in two compartments, fine blind-stamped pattern in remainder, gilt borders on bands, blind-stamped borders on covers, all edges marbled, marbled endpapers. Profusely illustrated with engraved drawings, many full-page. These first eleven volumes of Punch begins with Volume I (1841) and continues to Volume XI (1846). Printed in London by Bradbury, Agnew, & Co., "for the Proprietors'" "Punch, or the London Charivari was a British weekly magazine of humour & satire established in 1841 by Henry Mayhew & engraver Ebenezer Landells. It became a British institution." . All of the bindings are in virtually perfect condition, smooth and tight, with just a couple of small spots. The edges of the volumes are shelf-worn. The marbled boards on a couple of volumes have some small spots or rubbing. The test block of each volume is in perfect condition, tight, square, and clean, and seemingly unread.
