Publisher's blue cloth, titled in gilt on front and spine; plain endpapers, lacking front free endpaper; [vi],310,[2],[20]pp; 22pp of ads at rear. Stamp of Herbert Biberman to flyleaf; old pencil notes to flyleaf. A straight copy, spine lightly sunned, edges gently rubbed, f.f.e.p. lacking, mild toning: Very Good.
The first issue, with the twenty-page Duckworth catalogue at rear: "Although McDonald gives priority to the copies with the sixteen-page catalogue, the library of the University of Texas has a copy with the twenty-page catalogue which has the publisher's review stamp giving the date of publication as 26 November 1914; hence it may be assumed that the copies with the twenty-page catalogue are earlier" (Roberts p.18). With the ownership stamp of Hollywood director Herbert Biberman, one of the Hollywood Ten and director of the 1954 film Salt of the Earth. ROBERTS A6 Variant 1.
