A first edition of this fast-paced crime novel by award-winner Julian Symons A reporter witnesses a fatal stabbing by a band of teddy boys on Guy Fawkes' night. Featuring a large band of assorted characters, this novel explores the danger of newspaper sensationalism with a young and genuine reporter at its heart. Julian Symon's 'The Progress of a Crime' was the winner of the 1961 Edgar Award for Best Novel. This copy is a first edition, in the publisher's original binding with an unclipped dustwrapper. There is a bookplate with an engraving of Westwick House in Wiltshire to the inside cover. In the publisher's original cloth binding. With unclipped dustwrapper. Externally very smart with minor bumping to the head and tail of spine. Dustwrapper is smart with a small amount of chipping to the head of spine. Small closed tear to the bottom of rear fly leaf. Bookplate to the front pastedown, 'Westwick House'. Minor offsetting to the endpapers. Internally firmly bound and pages bright and clean. Very Good Indeed
